OCEAN SKYE SHAWL

Dream it..Imagine it..Be Inspired by it.. Create it

My inspiration for this shawl came from one of my many trips back home to Scotland. I had went to the seaside like you do when you are so close to the Ocean. I was sitting there looking out from the beautiful Island of Skye, and then I was drawn to the beautiful view that you see when looking out as far as the eye can see, the complete wonder and mismeration when you see that the sky meets the Ocean and that is when the inspiration came to me for this beautiful and simple shawl.

I then set about coming up with a colorway to reflect the beauty, so the colorway “Ocean Sky”  was born. Our original colorway is shown on our front page, but of course any colors would reflect the gorgeousness of this design.

This beautiful shawl pattern is a crescent style shawl with a central increase, a very relaxed project..We have an option for a small and large size.

The start of the shawl is a garter tab cast on and I finished with a traditional bind off, but others have used a pivot cast on which is really beautiful

This shawl is a simple knit and would be great for someone who is just starting off in shawl knitting.

Shawl Specs:

We used  colorway “Ocean Skye “ Highland Way Base

Yardage between 400 yards and 800 yards, depending on the size that you create.

By using two skeins of fingering weight yarn,  yardage is more than enough

Size US 5/ 3.75mm 32” circular

Two stitch markers

One progress Keeper

I hope you enjoy the beauty of this knit
